Description
Massage therapists are responsible for greeting Blackberry Farm guests in the Spa, making them comfortable, and providing them with 5-star massages and/or body treatments. The ultimate purpose is to provide relaxation and restoration to our guests. Must work with and aid other team members in spa operations to ensure a 5-star experience for the guest.
Weekend availability is required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. other duties may be assigned.
Prepare room and tools necessary for scheduled treatments
Ensure treatment room and areas are clean and sanitized using approved sanitizing procedures
Restock treatment products in treatment areas
Remove soiled laundry
Bring in clean laundry
Assist in opening and closing duties
Transport guests
Attend the front desk if the coordinator needs to briefly step away
Perform a variety of massage modalities including deep tissue and hot stone massage
Perform a variety of body treatments
Willingness to receive training on new procedures
Any tasks deemed necessary by the manager to keep the spa clean, stocked, and operating smoothly
Job Requirements
Must comply with all company policies and procedures.
To perform the essential functions of this position regular and consistent attendance is required.
Must be able to work well with other Team Members, Managers and interact with our guests.
Must have the flexibility to work nights and weekends.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
None
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Tennessee State License required and required continuing education units
550 + hours of education required
6 months as a practicing Licensed Massage Therapist preferred
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must have excellent verbal communication skills
Must be able to communicate effectively with guests, managers and team members
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Basic math skills
REASONING ABILITY
Must be able to exercise judgment and make decisions based on job knowledge and awareness of company goals.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to be on feet for most of the day
Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs
Must be able to perform multiple services during shift
Must be able to safely operate a company vehicle or golf cart
WORK ENVIRONMENT
4,200 acres of Blackberry Farm property
Must be able to work in a calm and quiet spa setting
