The Metropolitan Council is the regional planning agency for the Minneapolis/St. Paul metropolitan area providing essential services to our region: transportation, wastewater collection and treatment, growth and development of local communities, affordable housing programs, and regional park systems.
Human Resources works with all divisions of the Metropolitan Council to provide proactive solutions for the Council's workforce needs in the areas of recruitment, hiring, labor relations, benefits, training, organizational development, occupational health, and wellness.
The Human Resources Manager - Occupational Health provides leadership to Metropolitan Council directors, managers, supervisors, and employees regarding occupational health programs and services provided by the Council. Under the direction of the Senior Manager, the incumbent will lead the Occupational Health function, including oversight of the Disability Management program for all divisions of the Council and administration of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) reasonable accommodation process for employees and applicants. This position provides work direction, coaching, and direct supervision to the Occupational Health Specialists and Human Resources Assistants within the unit. In addition, the Manager may provide high-level assistance and work direction to the Employee Resource Center (leave administration) and Drug and Alcohol work units.
Anticipated Starting Salary Range: $101,744 - $145,00 annually
This position is eligible for hybrid (remote and onsite) teleworking.
Requirements
Any of the following combinations in completed education (degree field of study in Human Resources, Business, Public Administration, Nursing, Occupational Health, Public Health, or a closely related field) and experience (managing a broad Human Resources function or an Occupational Health program, including the areas of employee disability case management, return to work, fitness for duty and restricted duty, Americans with Disabilities Act [ADA], and leave designation and administration):
- High school diploma/GED with ten or more years of experience, including three or more years of experience in a supervisory, management, or lead worker role
- Associate degree with eight or more years of experience, including three or more years of experience in a supervisory, management, or lead worker role
- Bachelor's degree with six or more years of experience, including three or more years of experience in a supervisory, management, or lead worker role
- Master's or higher degree with four or more years of experience, including three or more years of experience in a supervisory, management, or lead worker role
