Description

Curbside Enterprises is seeking a well-organized self-starter to join our team as a full-time Staff Writer. This position is responsible for researching, reporting, and writing original content for Curbside Chronicle, Oklahoma City's award-winning street paper. This position works closely with the Editor to produce compelling stories that inform, engage, and inspire readers while elevating the voices of people experiencing homelessness and poverty. The Staff Writer develops story ideas, conducts interviews, research issues affecting the community, and contributes content for the print publication, website, social media platforms, and special projects. This position regularly interacts with Curbside vendors, program participants, community members, nonprofit partners, government officials, and other sources to produce accurate, ethical, and impactful journalism.

Requirements

• Education: Undergraduate degree in journalism, communications, English, or related field.
• Experience: Three years of professional writing, journalism, or communications experience.
• Skills: interviewing expertise, publication writing, and familiarity with AP Style.
• Preference may be given to those with photography, audio storytelling, or multimedia experience.
